Welcome to this website. I’m using it as a place to collect together some of the things that are important to me. Maybe some of them will resonate with you too.
I have come to believe that stories are at the centre of almost everything that matters. They are how we make sense of our lives, how communities hold together, how faith is passed on, how children first encounter the sacred, and how adults encounter it too. Much of my ministry, my teaching, and my writing has circled around this conviction in one way or another.
From August 1st 2026, I will be the Principal of Sarum College, but my own story has moved through some unexpected places. I have been in rural and urban ministry settings, I was Canon Chancellor of Wells Cathedral, and I have taught in both the UK and Canada. I was also in non-stipendiary ministry whilst working for British Intelligence.
I teach, I preach, and I try to help churches become the best versions of themselves that they can be. I am a member of the Third Order of the Society of St. Francis, a lover of the breadth of Anglican worship, and someone who thinks that children belong at the heart of the Church’s life, not its margins.
As well as academic work in Biblical Studies and Theology, I have also published biblical stories for storytellers, and a few other reflective pieces for a popular audience. You’ll find information about my publications, and links to many of them, on this site. I hope you enjoy browsing through them.
